Good Earth Gardens
Innovative garden design in South East England
The perfect design for your garden whether a town garden or rolling acres...
The prospect of tackling your garden can be a daunting prospect. Where to begin? How do I combine the differing needs of my family? What to plant, and what is likely to survive? What can I realistically afford to do? These are a few of the often-asked questions that we can help you to answer.
Getting the structure of your garden right, with a good overall balance and strong ‘bones’, is, in our view, essential. At Good Earth we look at the big picture first, making sure that every part is in proportion, that hard and soft landscaping are nicely balanced and that each area functions harmoniously with the rest of the garden.
Then we can concentrate on the individual areas, linking and creating spaces to ensure that different parts form a cohesive whole, even if individual areas serve quite different purposes. These principles remain the same whether your garden is measured in acres or square metres.
The use of hard landscaping materials – stone, brick, concrete, timber, metal – are chosen carefully to reflect the nature of the garden, and are sourced locally wherever possible. Water – natural ponds, formal pools – may play a part in your garden – and we carefully plan and design water features so they fit seamlessly into their surrounding area. Lighting can create a magical effect and we can implement a lighting plan that will transform your garden after the sun goes down.
